Pontardawe Community Well-being Hub was born from a shared vision: to create a welcoming space where everyone in our community can thrive.
Registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission in January 2025, our Hub represents the collective effort of dedicated local residents who recognised the need for accessible recreation and support facilities in Pontardawe and the surrounding Swansea Valley.
Our journey began with a simple question: "How can we improve the lives of our neighbours?" The answer lies in providing spaces and programs that bring people together, support those in need, and strengthen the bonds that make Pontardawe such a special place to live.
These principles guide everything we do at the Hub.
Everyone is welcome at our Hub, regardless of age, ability, background, or circumstance. We celebrate diversity and create spaces where all feel valued.
We approach every interaction with empathy and understanding. Supporting our neighbours through challenges is at the heart of what we do.
We believe in the power of connection. By bringing people together, we build a stronger, more resilient Pontardawe for generations to come.
As a registered charity, we maintain the highest standards of accountability. Our operations and finances are open to public scrutiny.
We don't just help — we empower. Our programs are designed to build skills, confidence, and independence in those we serve.
We're building for the long term. Our Hub is designed to serve Pontardawe today and for many generations into the future.
Our Hub is governed by a committed board of 8 trustees — local residents who volunteer their time and expertise to serve our community.
Our trustees bring diverse skills and backgrounds to the table — from healthcare professionals and educators to business leaders and community activists. What unites them is a shared passion for improving lives in Pontardawe.
As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, our governance structure ensures transparent decision-making and accountability to our beneficiaries and supporters. All trustees serve in a voluntary capacity, dedicating their personal time to furthering our charitable objectives.
Our Hub is situated on Works Road in Pontardawe — a historic town with a proud industrial heritage and a vibrant, close-knit community.
Pontardawe, meaning "bridge over the Tawe," has been a centre of community life in the Swansea Valley for centuries. Today, it's home to approximately 12,000 residents who take pride in their Welsh heritage and strong neighbourly bonds.
Our location on Works Road pays tribute to the area's industrial past while looking forward to a future where community well-being takes centre stage.
